The provision of broadband services to KKH is approved

Islamabad: The Ministry of Information Technology And Telecommunication organised a meeting of the departmental development working party. The meeting was chaired by IT and telecommunication secretary, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

In the meeting, the Ministry has approved the provision of broadband services to the Karakoram Highway and the establishment of the information technology institutions in the country.

The ministry approved the fund amounting to Rs 4.8 billion for 7 and 7 different projects throughout the country including the Gilgit-Baltistan region.

In the meeting, the ministry is informed that the special communication organisation _ the attached department of the ministry of IT _  would spend Rs 1580 million on the provision of internet services and mobile connectivity in the Diamer Basha dam site and in its surrounding areas.
