Islamabad () Former PTI MNA and former Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, along with other PTI representatives including the Opposition Leader of Punjab and recently elected Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Sheikh Waqas, held a press conference. Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan emphasized that wheat, being a vital sector in the country, is currently facing unjust treatment, which is detrimental to the nation's well-being. Food security is a daily concern, and PTI stands in solidarity with farmers, ready to protest if necessary, against any injustices.

Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan lamented the loss of lives, with women dying while queuing for flour, and farmers struggling with their livelihoods. He expressed concerns that wheat farmers might be compelled to stay home due to neglect from the current government and insufficient support for next year's wheat cultivation.

Furthermore, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan highlighted the pivotal role of the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in their caretaker government. He emphasized that they cannot deny responsibility for wheat imports during their tenure. There was a significant influx of imported wheat from September to March, raising questions about the decision-making process. Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan demanded an inquiry into the wheat import issue and swift action against those accountable, advocating for strict measures to be taken.
